Global Neurosurgery Committee 1.0: A Model for Virtual Collaboration in Global Surgery

Abstract

The World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), the governing body for national and regional neurosurgical societies worldwide, established the ad hoc Global Neurosurgery Committee (GNC) in 2019. This international board of neurosurgeons collaborated virtually in pursuit of defined goals and targets related to neurosurgical equity. We summarize the work of the WFNS GNC, highlight the role of virtual collaboration in global surgery, and delineate best practices for virtual collaboration in global surgery.
